Catherine Horton LICSW
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working in psychiatric, educational, and mental health settings. Most recently I worked on adolescent inpatient units and partial day hospital programs conducting family, individual, and group therapies centered around adolescents experiencing a moderate to severe level of crisis. This has made me extremely well-versed with the issues that modern day adolescents, parents, and families face.
I am trained in several different modalities of treatment. I primarily use psychodynamic, relational, and compassion-based approaches. In instances of crises, addressing and managing the crisis will always be the primary focus. I am pragmatic, detail-oriented, calm, patient, and not easily shocked! I take my work very seriously and am most focused when conducting a session. I tend use humor as appropriate as this can be one of our greatest strengths in accessing self-compassion.
